Last year we went on a day trip to Mavrovo to enjoy the fresh air, amazing autumn scenery and lovely food at least for a day. The snow wasn't on the ground, so the autumn leaves were in full bloom, and it was spectacular to witness. I'm not a specially gifted landscape photographer, but here it's really difficult to miss a shot.
Last month, I was hired to take portraits of a the employees of a company in Skopje (something I often do). The people were young, nice and attractive, but were in no way models or experienced in front of a camera- except for their selfie cameras. As the shooting went on, they kept finding flaws in their pictures and wanted to retake them, but all I wanted to tell them was how nice their smile was, or how great their hair looked, or how flawless their skin was- but kept most of it to myself so that they didn't think that I wanted to get off easy
The summer has already finished, and I still haven't finished writing about my vacation (dropped the ball on that one, didn't I?). However, since it's a city escape, and the city at hand is Vienna, summer does not have to be the only season to visit it.
I wanted to dedicate the second part of the Bratislava photo blog to the modernist and socialist modernist architecture and sights of the city. Which were plenty! And they blended in very nicely with the older parts of the city in almost an indistinguishable way. I loved it! If you're a fan of this era... Continue Reading →
It's been well over a month since I came back from holiday, but as luck (and retrograde Mercury) would like it, procrastination was my main motto. However, the time came to write about my last trip, and the first destination was the city of Bratislava, Slovakia. This was my first time in Slovakia completely, so... Continue Reading →
As the spring holidays rolled in a group of friends and I had a few days off work, and we wanted to make the best of them. But, the weather wasn't very nice, and a few of us had some health issues so instead of going some place exotic (out of city bounds), we decided... Continue Reading →
Around December, when I finally got the time to edit my photographs from Rome, I realized that I had taken a lot of street portraits of people looking at their phones. Sure, they may have been tourists looking for directions, but my first thought was that nowadays we always look at our phones hoping to... Continue Reading →
Today is the 1st of April a.k.a. April Fools Day. In my country it's a custom to have masquerades on this day, but I myself am not a big fan of masquerades (nor was I ever). However, in the odd chance that I should actually attend a masquerade in a mask, I always have a... Continue Reading →
It's that time of year again- spring! I can't really decide if I like spring or autumn more, but in any case, both are very scenic times for nature. There is always one week during the beginning of spring in which I childishly grin at every tree that has blossomed. It's a nice time. So... Continue Reading →
As phases (and life) go by, I find myself discovering muses in many different people and places. However, one muse has been a constant this past decade- the city of Skopje. For better or for worse, Skopje has offered me a place and space to be myself creatively, as well as personally. That is why... Continue Reading →
