Happy Pride Month everybody! Even though we are well into June, I thought I would still dedicate one post to the movement that brings so much love and joy to so many- Pride!
What does a photographer do in times of social distancing and isolation?
By now most of us have been in isolation/ social distancing for at least a while now. The government measures here began about a month ago and since all my work engagement ceased at the same moment, my isolation began effectively. As a portrait/ architecture photographer, meeting new people and going new places were big "no no"s in the given situation, so I have had to find ways in which to keep on being productive during this time.
Why don’t we like ourselves in photographs?
Last month, I was hired to take portraits of a the employees of a company in Skopje (something I often do). The people were young, nice and attractive, but were in no way models or experienced in front of a camera- except for their selfie cameras. As the shooting went on, they kept finding flaws in their pictures and wanted to retake them, but all I wanted to tell them was how nice their smile was, or how great their hair looked, or how flawless their skin was- but kept most of it to myself so that they didn't think that I wanted to get off easy
